Standard applied

This site targets Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA — the standard referenced by EN 301 549 and the European Accessibility Act.

Conformance status

Partially conformant. Parts of the site meet WCAG 2.2 AA and have been verified; other parts have been remediated but not yet confirmed with assistive technology, and some known issues remain (listed below). We do not claim full conformance, because a full claim requires manual testing with real screen readers on real devices.

Assessment method: automated testing with axe-core across all public routes, plus manual keyboard-only, zoom (200% and 400% reflow) and colour-contrast review.

Date of assessment: 2026-02-06.

What has been verified

• Keyboard operation of the full booking flow, with no keyboard traps.
• Visible focus indicators on every interactive element.
• Text contrast of at least 4.5:1 for body and secondary text.
• Page reflow at 200% zoom without horizontal scrolling.
• Form labels, required-field marking and autocomplete on contact fields.
• Error messages announced to assistive technology and tied to their field.
• Minimum 24×24 CSS pixel targets for controls, 44×44 for primary controls.
• Reduced-motion preference honoured for all animation.

Known limitations

• Photo strips on the trip-information pages scroll horizontally inside their container at very small widths. Every image is also reachable from the Gallery page in a vertical grid.
• Gallery alternative text is supplied by our staff at upload. Alt text is now required by the upload form, but photographs added before that change may have brief descriptions.
• Stripe checkout is a third-party payment page. Its accessibility is controlled by Stripe and is outside our direct control.
• Ticket PDFs and confirmation emails may not be fully tagged. An accessible HTML version of every ticket is always available from the confirmation page link, and we will send booking details in plain text on request.
• Screen-reader testing with NVDA, JAWS and VoiceOver has not yet been completed, so some announcements may be imperfect.

Preferences

The accessibility button in the header lets you increase text size, switch to a high-contrast palette, reduce motion and underline links. Your choice is remembered on this device. These options are a supplement — the site is built to be accessible without them.
